Object Storage
Object-based storage is an approach to addressing and manipulating data storage as discrete units, called objects. Objects exist at the same level in a storage pool. Each object has a unique, identifying name that an application uses to retrieve it. Unlike other data storage methods, object-based storage does not use a directory tree. Objects are kept inside a single repository, and are not nested as files inside a folder.
