Data Center Switching

Description

CONNECT Professional Services has deep experience with deploying Data Center switching solutions that empower the data center infrastructure with innovative features and services.

High Performance Fixed and Modular

In Next Generation data centers that rely heavily on consolidation and virtualization initiatives, data center-class switches are deployed as converged platforms to serve the application needs. Data center switches have high performance characteristics to accommodate the high demands of a two-tier (leaf-spine) or one-tier flat mesh or fabric architecture. Data Center switches provide the physical port capacity and port throughput required to handle both north-south and east-west traffic flows.

Fixed and Modular

Data Center switches can be fixed or modular depending on the positioning requirements. Data Center switches positioned at the data center distribution or core layer usually are modular to support state-of-art high availability and scalability standards. On the other hand, for data center switches positioned at the access layer usually fixed form factor models with high-performance, density and low latency are deployed.

ToR Converged LAN and SAN

Data Center switches that are positioned as top-of-rack (ToR) are equipped to support converged connectivity using both standard LAN Ethernet protocols and SAN protocols, such as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and legacy Fibre Channel. This provides simplified management, reduced power consumption and efficient cabling.
